Many times the Directors of the IBCA Board get telephone calls regarding issues which are either Neighborhood Association issues (i.e. your roof is leaking) or issues beyond the scope of any board member (i.e. the neighbors are noisy). These types of misdirected calls are frustrating both for the caller, whose needs remain unmet, and for the recipient of the call, who finds him/herself unable to help.

 

Below I have listed some of the more frequent types of Neighborhood Association calls, and indicated who to call… hopefully this will help us all help ourselves better in the future. In the event that your association does not have a management company, your first point of contact would be your Neighborhood Association President.

My roof is leaking                                                 ->          your Association Management Company

My neighbors are noisy                                          ->          Broward County Sheriff’s Office

Poop scoop violation in your neighborhood          ->          your Association Management Company

I want to make outside modifications to my unit   ->          your Association Management Company

My Management Company isn’t doing their job   ->          the President of your Association

The President of my association is unresponsive   ->          VP of your Association & board members

 

Please note that the above references are your first point of contact; there are a few issues, such as making modifications to the outside of your unit, that do require the IBCA/Master Board approval as well-- so that the Community can continue to maintain it’s uniformity. However, for purely Neighborhood Association issues, calling the IBCA/Master board will not get you anywhere, other than a sympathetic ear.  Calling the Master Board is not like “I am telling mommy on you”… it is more like telling someone else’s mommy.  The issues below are typical of what IBCA would handle:
