Structure of the governing bodies in our community Within Independence Bay there are 11 Neighborhood Associations: 8 Condominium Associations and 3 Homeowner Associations. In addition to the Neighborhood Associations, there is an additional “community” Homeowner Association, known as IBCA, also known as the “Master Board” and/or “The Corporation.”
The Neighborhood Associations govern the property that is enclosed within your “neighborhood” such as your unit, your landscaping, vehicles parked in your neighborhood, paving right outside your home. The IBCA governs community property such as the pools, library, exercise room, gates, security service, clubhouse, overall appearance of the Community, Independence Drive and American Way.
When you purchased your unit in IBCA you automatically became a voting member of your Neighborhood Association and IBCA. Hopefully you already know which Neighborhood Association you belong to, but if you don’t already know, the list below should help you to make that determination.
