Many times the Directors of the Master Board get telephone calls regarding issues which are either Neighborhood Association issues (i.e. your roof is leaking) or issues beyond the scope of any board member (i.e. the neighbors are noisy). These types of misdirected calls are frustrating both for the caller, whose needs remain unmet, and for the recipient of the call, who finds him/herself unable to help.
Below is a list of frequent issues, and the first point of contact to help direct your call more efficiently. If your association does not have a management company, your first point of contact would be your Neighborhood Association President.
Neighborhood Association Issues
- My roof is leaking → Your Association Management Company
- My neighbors are noisy → Broward County Sheriff’s Office
- I want to make outside modifications to my unit → Your Association Management Company
- Neighbors are feeding the ducks → Your Association Management Company
- Our Property Manager isn’t doing their job → The Board Members of your Association
Note: Some issues (like modifications to the outside of your unit) also require IBCA/Master Board approval to maintain community uniformity. However, for purely Neighborhood Association issues, contacting the IBCA/Master board is not effective — it’s more like telling someone else’s parents what your sibling did.
IBCA / Master Board Issues
- I witnessed a security violation → Prime Management Company
- Poop scoop violation on Independence Drive → Prime Management Company
- Lights not working on American Way/Indy Dr. → Prime Management Company
- Pool, Gym, Clubhouse dirty or needing repairs → Prime Management Company
- Prime Management Company not responsive → IBCA/Master Board members
