Structure of the governing bodies in our community
Within Independence Bay there are 11 Neighborhood Associations: 8 Condominium Associations and 3 Homeowner Associations. In addition, there is a “community” Homeowner Association, known as IBCA, also referred to as the “Master Board” and/or “The Corporation.”
The Neighborhood Associations govern the property enclosed within your neighborhood, such as your unit, landscaping, vehicles parked in your neighborhood, and paving right outside your home. The IBCA governs community property such as the pools, library, exercise room, gates, security service, clubhouse, overall appearance of the community, Independence Drive, and American Way.
When you purchased your unit in IBCA, you automatically became a voting member of both your Neighborhood Association and IBCA. If you don’t already know which Neighborhood Association you belong to, the list below should help you make that determination.
